Dr. Alice Chon-Völker studied human medicine at Cologne University from 1992 to 1999. At this time she worked abroad for several times, for example, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, USA and Kantonsspital Langenthal, Switzerland.

Afterwards she started her specialist education in anesthesiology at Dominikus-Krankenhaus in Dusseldorf and St. Vinzenz-Hospital, Cologne.
After her dissertation in 2001, she successfully passed exams in anesthesiology in 2006.

Since her studies, Dr. Chon-Völker has been interested in the Traditional Chinese Medicine with focus on acupuncture. She started her education in acupuncture 1998 at the “Deutsche Akupunktur Gesellschaft Düsseldorf” in charge of Dr. Gabriel Stux and successfully passed exams in 2009. Because taking care of patients with severe pain is of main interest for Dr. Chon-Völker, she did further education in special pain medicine at the ‘Gemeinschaftskrankenhaus St. Petrus’ in Bonn passing her final exams in 2011.

Dr. Chon-Völker is member of “Bund Deutscher Anästhesisten” (BDA, Association of German Anesthetists), “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Schmerztherapie” (DGS, German Pain Association), and “Deutsche Gesellschaft zum Studium des Schmerzes” (DGSS, German Association for the study of pain).
