Beta Klinik cooperates with Asklepios Children´s Hospital: new 3 tesla MRI system in Sankt Augustin

The German clinics Beta Klinik at Bonner Bogen and Asklepios Children´s Hospital in Sankt Augustin will work closely together from now on. A branch of Beta Klinik (under the direction of Prof. Dr. Jürgen Reul and Dr. Axel Jung) will be opened at the Children´s Hospital. Core of the offshoot is a Siemens 3 tesla high-field MRI system – one of the best and latest high-field MRI systems in the world. It goes without saying that not only children but also adult private patients can be examined. Special features of the MR device are its high magnetic field of 3 tesla, the possibility of reducing the examination duration and the big opening of the device.

High magnetic field of 3 tesla
The high magnetic field of 3 tesla grants high-definition images. For many medical questions, this is a key feature not only for children but for adults, too. This holds especially for examinations of brain, spine, joints, inner organs (especially the heart), vessels, breast, prostate gland, bile ducts or ureter. Also whole body imaging (tumor imaging, vascular imaging) is optimized.
Even the smallest vascular malformations, tumors or signs of epilepsy or stroke can be visualized in a very high resolution.

Reduced examination duration
An interesting possibility is the reduced examination duration in comparison to other devices with a lower magnetic field. This is particularly comfortable for children or adults being only able to lay still for a short time.

Big opening = comfort while laying
The big opening of the MRI system ensures a pleasant comfort while laying and being scanned. The 3 tesla MRI system is no completely open device in opposite to open 1.5 tesla MRI system at Beta Klinik in Bonn. But it offers significantly more freedom to move than common devices.
