Radiology, pediatric radiology

Thorough examinations of adults and children

Radiology concerns the investigation of diseases of the human body using state-of-the-art imaging techniques. We offer the entire spectrum of modern and reliable diagnostics, which is a prerequisite for successful treatment. Our team – Dr. med. Andre W. Demant (paediatric radiology) and Dr. med. Christoph Manka (radiology / neuroradiology), Dr. med. Thomas Weimann (radiology / neuroradiology) – fully focus on our patients’ radiological care and needs. As a result, they are able to accurately determine the best method of examination for each patient. A competent team of anaesthetists is available on site, so adults and children can be examined under anaesthesia, if necessary.

At the radiological department of Beta Klinik, we perform comprehensive examinations using most modern diagnostic devices. In addition to X-ray and computerized tomography (CT), we do also use procedures without radiation exposure like magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or ultrasound. Moreover, we can examine adults or children under sedation or anesthesia thanks to our competent team of experienced anesthesiologists.

Radiology and paediatric radiology

Using the most modern devices, our radiologists perform diagnostic examinations on adults and children. In addition to conventional X-ray and computed tomography (CT), radiation-free methods such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasound are used, especially in children.

Diagnostic devices

  • open high-field MRI scanner (1.5 Tesla)—also a very good option for claustrophobic and overweight patients up to 250 kg (550 lbs)
  • high-field MRI scanner with 3 Tesla—high-definition images of the brain or joints
  • multispiral CT with reduced radiation
  • digital/conventional X-raying
  • digital angiography device (angiography/myelography)
  • ultrasound

Diagnostic and therapeutic services (examples)

MRI, e.g.,

  • total body MRI
  • MR angiography (head, throat, kidney, pelvic, legs)
  • cardiac MRI (heart MRI)
  • MRCP (imaging of gall and pancreas)
  • orthopedic MRI (joints, functional spine MRI)
  • MR mammography
  • prostate MRI
  • pediatric MRI (also under sedation/anesthesia)

CT, e.g.,

  • CT angiography (head, throat, kidney, pelvic, legs)
  • cardiac CT (coronary vessels)
  • CT throat, lung, abdomen
  • CT interventions (biopsy, microtherapy)

We also offer

  • conventional radiology (digital)
  • fluoroscopy (real-time moving X-ray images)
  • neuroradiology
