X-raying

About X-raying

Conventional X-raying was the first medical imaging procedure in history. Based on X-radiation, it has been a basic diagnostic procedure to the present day. Over the last 100 years, the possibilities and technical preconditions have improved significantly so that an optimal X-ray image with a low radiation exposure is possible today. At Beta Klinik, digital luminescence radiography is used, which means that images can be digitized and do not have to but can be printed.

During an X-ray examination, X-rays penetrate the body and react with a medium behind it. In case of conventional X-raying, this medium is an X-ray film. In case of digital X-raying, it is a digital receiver creating digital data sets.

Digital X-raying and conventional X-raying at Beta Klinik

At Beta Klinik, we use a digital X-ray device. With this hardware, conventional X-ray films as well as digital data sets can be created.

When is X-raying indicated?

X-raying is a basic diagnostic means that is an important foundation of daily examinations. Conventional X-raying is especially valuable when examining bone fractures and thoracic organs like lungs (pneumonia).

Indication is restricted during pregnancy, and the necessity of every X-ray examination should be questioned in pediatric radiology.

How is X-raying carried out?

The painless X-ray examination only take a short amount of time. After positioning the patient according to the area to be examined, creating an X-ray image only takes seconds.

Advantages of X-raying

The advantage of digital X-raying is that images are converted into digital data sets that can be put on a CD or DVD. Sending them via internet is also possible within shortest time. A person´s images, taken only a few minutes ago, can be sent to any country of the world to a physician that provides further treatment to the person. This physician is then able to evaluate the pictures comfortably within a few mouse clicks.
