Center for neurosurgery and interventional neuroradiology

Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Thomas Gasser, M.D. and Dr. Axel Jung, M.D., the Department of Neurosurgery and Intervenional Neuroradiology treats the wide range of diseases of the brain, the bone marrow, spine, vessels and peripheral nerves.

It ranges from the treatment of degenerative spinal diseases, to complex surgery on cervical spine and stereotactic removal of brain tumors.

Microsurgery and endoscopic spine surgery but also new procedures of neuromodulation (deep brain stimulation, spinal cord stimulation and others) of highest quality are performed. The department is endowed with state-of-the-art devices and offers the best care possible. At class 1 operating room, besides surgery microscope, neuro-endoscopy, neuro-electrophysiological monitoring prove the high quality standard.

Also vascular diseases (e.g., aneurysms) or vascular stenoses (e.g., carotid stenosis) are treated by interventional neuroradiologists. Interventional neuroradiology is a young subdomain of  diagnostic radiology and is its therapeutic branch. Interventional treatments are carried out using the guidance imaging procedures (ultrasoundCTMRI and angiography), e.g., in the vascular system (e.g., in case of aneurysms of the brain-supplying arteries or in case of the peripheral vascular disease). Only the enormous technological development made this kind of minimally invasive therapy possible. Beta Klinik is endowed with state-of-the-art interventional devices so that our patients can benefit from this technological progress.
We take care of our patients after a surgery or after an intervention at our interdisciplinary monitoring station if necessary. Qualified staff monitor our patients, ensuring a safe and quick recovery.
