Stefan Mühlbauer studied human medicine at the University of Bonn and spent his practical year in the Bonner St. Marienhospital. His specialist medical training in general surgery then followed at various clinics. Stefan Mühlbauer qualified as a specialist for general surgery in 2004.
Stefan Mühlbauer has worked as chief physician in various clinics since 2006 and during his many years of surgical experience, has built up extensive competence in the areas of general and visceral surgery. In 2010, as senior physician for general and visceral surgery, he took over the leadership of coloproctology at St.-Josef-Hospital in Bonn with authorisation for outpatients. In addition, Stefan Mühlbauer is an emergency service doctor and has specialist knowledge in x-rays in surgery and emergency diagnostics.
A special focus point of his medical work lies in visceral surgery. Stefan Mühlbauer specialises in minimally invasive and gentle surgical procedures. In order to give his patients the best possible treatment, he regularly attends advanced medical training courses and seminars. He is a member of the German Surgeons Federation (BDC) and the German Society for General and Visceral Surgery (DGAV). He attends the international coloproctology congress in Munich yearly.
