Dr. med. Andre W. Demant, M.D., studied human medicine at the University of Bonn, Germany. During his studies, he had internships at the Sloan-Kettering-Cancer-Center in New York, USA, and the Inselspital Bern, Suisse. He began his clinical further education at the clinic for internal medicine at the university hospital of the University of Bonn, Germany, mentored by Prof. Dr. T. Sauerbruch and wrote his doctoral dissertation about an experimental urological topic. Dr. Demant absolved his radiological further education in Bern, Suisse, and at the university hospital of the University of Cologne, Germany, became a board-certified radiologist, who also specializes in pediatric radiology. From 2010 on, he was a permanent assistant director in pediatric radiology as well as senior physician at the institute of diagnostic and interventional radiology of the University of Cologne, Germany. In 2011, Dr. Demant became the director of imaging diagnostics at Asklepios Children´s Hospital in St. Augustin, Germany, and built the MRI diagnostics department in cooperation with Beta Klinik. Since 2013, he has been responsible for the radiological diagnostics at Beta Klinik, especially pediatric radiology. Dr. Demant is a DEGUM-certified examiner for radiology and pediatrics. He is author of numerous scientific articles and publications in pediatric radiology. Being a co-author, he was awarded the science prize of the German society of pediatric radiology in 2011. Dr. Demant is member of Deutsche Röntgengesellschaft (DRG – German society of medical radiology), Gesellschaft für Pädiatrische Radiologie (GPR – society of pediatric radiology) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ultraschall in der Medizin (DEGUM – German society of sonography in medicine).
